The trapper, in this case the venus flytrap, is an insectivorous plant. The venus flytrap is actually native to North and South Carolina. Most of the venus fly traps around here are potted and shipped to different areas. I guess the only way you could get a venus fly trap straight from North or South Carolina is if you go there and dig one up and bring it back. I think it is awesome how the venus fly trap catches its prey. If a fly touches two of the little bristle like hairs the jaws will close in a matter of seconds. Sorry flies! :[

My Book
I was reading the book Where The Red Fern Grows. This book is awesome. I was assigned to read this book in school. I am happy to have read this book. It is about a little boy who wants two hunting dogs. But not just any dogs he wants hounds. In the beginning his parents refuse to buy Billy, the little boy, some hounds. So he saves up his money over TWO YEARS! After he has saved enough money he sneaks out and goes to town to pick up his dogs. His parents are worried sick when he gets home. I can't tell you the rest of the book or I will spoil the ending. You should definitely read this book.

Turtles
Today in school we made tessellations. If you don't know what those are they are a pattern made by tracing a special stencil. Each one fits together in a certain way. I made one that is a turtle. It is mainly green with a little bit of yellow and blue. I made a second one that has elephants on it. It is yellow, pink, and two shades of blue. CHECK IT OUT!

Ice Cream Day
Yesterday, my mom took Eliot, Annika, Ben, and I out. We didn't really know where we were going but we ended up at McDonald's. My mom said she would get us all ice cream cones. We were so excited. Then, I saw a sign that said cones are 49 cents. When we went inside it was packed! I didn't know if we were going to even get to go down the slide once. But by the time we got to the top of the slide most of the kids were gone. I was really happy because that meant we could go down the slide fast! Then ICE CREAM! My mom went to go get our ice cream. She came back with four cones and we enjoyed!
